Countdown to a Show…

bits of a banner

The dyepot is finally out of the kitchen. Everything (pretty much) is labelled and ready to go. The banner is finished (though not photographed, hense another ‘in the process’ shot), the table layout is sorted, and I need to get up a 4.30am tomorrow morning.

I am as ready as I’ll ever be.

Please come say hi! I’ll show you the scarf I’m working on for my grandad. 🙂 And the minimalist cardigan, which I’ll have with me. Oh and Oxford Kitchen Yarns yarn. Obivously. 😉

(Important note: All the stock has temporarily been removed from the webshop since it’s coming with me to the show. I’ll update it on monday.)

Oxford Kitchen Yarns @ The London Stitch n Bitch, Saturday 10th November.

a banner in the making...

So I said I was going to be manic-busy for the next couple of weeks, but I didn’t say why, since it deserved it’s own post.

I’m doing my first show! Oxford Kitchen Yarns is doing it’s first show!

Thus I am dyeing like a mad thing, trying to get enough stock together to make a good showing of it. Thus there won’t be any shop updates until after the 1oth.

Anyway here is the information you need:

When: Saturday 10th November 2007  (9.30am to 4.30pm)

Where: Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, Bloomsbury, London, WC1H 0DG

How much:  £7 in advance / £5 knitting group discount / £9 on day

How to book (and get more info): I knit London.

There are workshops, and booksignings, and stalls (obviously 😉 and entertainment, and exhibitions, and LOTS and LOTS of knitters. 🙂

And me. So please come by and chat if you’re coming along. It’d be lovely to see you. 🙂

(The images at the top? That would be the Oxford Kitchen Yarns sample banner. Or rather, bits of it. 🙂

EZ Hybrid Sweater: Days 8 (yesterday) and 9 (today)

Day 8: Get up. Watch Black Books – graft back of neck to second saddle, knit collar, and graft the underarms. W comes back from the allotment and tries it on. W looks foxy, and a bit like a jelly fish with all the loose ends hanging down. I go do other things for a bit.

On the way to friends’ son’s 2nd birthday, I pick up the stitches for the bottom inner edge. Have decided that the sleeve cuffs don’t actually need it. Knit for an inch or so. Swear at very old wool yarn that is only loosely plied and keeps breaking. Spend A LONG TIME weaving in ends.

Go see Lara after the party, and fail to sew the bottom edge to the inside of the sweater, twice. Abandon it for the night, and go back to chatting.

Day 9: After eatting, spend the rest of lunch finally sewing the edge properly. Jumper just needs blocking but I will leave it dry until W comes home so that he can have his final say before it gets wetted down and left to dry.

However… to all intents and purposes, NINE days after I started, I think the jumper is now DONE!

(Expect FO post in a few days, when there is daylight and W in the same place. 🙂

ETA: Having tried on the jumper I have decided that I AM STEALING IT FOR MYSELF – bwahahahh!!
